Duncan Robinson
of the Miami Heat
Duncan Robinson of NBA’s Miami Heat is an undrafted player that played Division III basketball in college and surpassed everyone's expectations and made it to the NBA through hard work, dedication, and taking care of his body.
Duncan reached 700 3-pointers in just 152 games, making him the fastest player to reach that milestone in NBA history. In 2020, Duncan signed a 5-year, $90M contract with the Miami heat – the largest deal ever for an undrafted player.
When Duncan was a student in college, he tried A-Sha noodles for the first time.
“Noodles are kind of like a staple of a college athlete's diet. But, for me, it was a healthy alternative to your standard ramen. It allowed me to easily prep my own meals and also get something that’s healthy and preparing me to compete and play.”
A-Sha Noodles were Duncan’s go-to meal inside the NBA bubble.
During the pandemic era season in 2020, Duncan was in the NBA bubble without many options for food and wasn’t allowed to order food delivery due to Covid risk. Duncan says:
“I was looking for a healthy alternative that would also prepare me to play and give me all the nutrients and protein that I would need...I was thinking back to my college days when I used to eat A-Sha noodles and before I knew it, I had all sorts of A- Sha noodles sent to me. They’re fantastic. I basically incorporated it into my every day. It was my on-the-go meal between practices, between workouts, before games. I quickly became known as the noodle guy.”
Duncan and A-Sha donated 10,000 meals together to fight food insecurity.
In the 2020 holiday season, during a time of hardship for many, Duncan and A-Sha partnered to fight against food insecurity and donated 10,000 packs of noodles to the non-profit foundation, Feeding South Florida.
“Honored to have the opportunity to partner with my favorite noodle brand @ashadrynoodle to bring a little bit of comfort to families in need during this difficult time”, says Duncan on Instagram.
Duncan chooses “Food to Fuel our Future”.
Being in the league, Duncan values feeling his best. A big part of that is the fuel he’s putting in his body. Quality matters to him. He only puts the highest quality, premium ingredients into his body with an emphasis on having plant-based protein in his diet.
Duncan's go-to A-Sha noodle is Mandarin Noodles with Original Sauce!
What’s next for Duncan and A-Sha?
Being in the NBA, Duncan holds a lot of value in the fuel he’s putting in his body, as he knows it has a huge impact on how he feels. He places importance on only eating food that will leave him feeling satisfied, energized, and at his best. Duncan Robinson and A-Sha Foods are continuing to partner to donate food to non-profit foundations and to work together to educate about the importance of sustainability and having the option of plant-based meals.
